A good time with Skunk Anansie

After last year’s excellent concert, members of one of the most exciting contemporary British bands, Skunk Anansie, have decided to once again perform in Zagreb as part of their latest promotional tour. The concert will be held on July 5th in the somewhat more intimate atmosphere of the Aquarius Club’s summer terrace.

On July 5th, Zagreb will once again host one of the most exciting contemporary British bands: Skunk Anansie. Unlike their large concert last year, this time the audience will enjoy their performance in the much more intimate atmosphere of the open terrace of Zagreb’s Aquarius Club.
 
The concert, which has been organized in cooperation with INmusic, will be part of their latest world tour to promote their big comeback album, “Wonderlustre”. Their last album was recorded in 1999, but the latest one features their recognizable mixture of funk, punk and heavy, explosive-style rock, which they have been nurturing since their beginnings.

The band was founded in 1994 when it recorded its first and already then well-received singles: “Selling Jesus” and “I Can Dream”. Their big controversial hit, “Little Baby Swastikkka”, proved they were a band that would quickly gain global fame. They recorded their first official album (Paranoid and Sunburnt, 1995) only a year after the band was founded, and it sold 100,000 copies. Their other albums also achieved similar success but the pressures of fame led to their disbanding in 2001, only to reunite eight years later. The fans received that news with unhidden delight, and concerts across the world were quickly sold out.

In order to express their gratitude to their fans, the band released their greatest hits album, “Smashes and Trashes”, that same year. Experience has shown that absence from the music scene has resulted in a new unity and the even richer sound of the “Wonderlustre” album.
