A hostel with a story

The Swanky Mint Hostel, located in the building of the onetime textile dying and dry-cleaning facility built in the late 19th century, attracts guests with an original, unconventional design, and adds yet another, interesting dimension to your stay in Zagreb.

Located in the heart of the city, the Swanky Mint Hostel boasts an original interior that successfully combines traditional and contemporary design solutions. It also offers the perfect combination of staying on Zagreb's main street - Ilica, whilst being in the proximity of the green oasis of Rokov Perivoj (Rok's Promenade). The hostel has two floors in a u-shaped layout. It consists of three private suites and five private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as five dormitories with shared bathrooms.

The hostel also features an atrium bar and a garden terrace, as well as a reception with a community kitchen and a small living area. Each aspect of the hostel has its own concept, while the interior is characterized by visible heating pipes, newly built custom industrial furniture that is combined with original items found in the building which once served as a textile dying and dry-cleaning facility. The hostel's interior design also includes old street lamps and other similar street features. The reception desk was built out of an old pleating machine, while the mirrored bathroom cabinets are made out of old suitcases. The awnings are made out of old bags used for coffee transport. The garden features old industrial irons that now serve as tables, while the colours of the chairs are a reminder of the hostel's recent opening: the guests painted them themselves!

An industrial design was chosen for the furniture, as well as the floors in all the rooms and bathrooms, while the entire space of this truly unconventional hostel has a special atmosphere. Therefore, the Swanky Mint Hostel has generated much interest and excellent reviews from guests who combine two stories into one: Zagreb's beauties and the hostel's originality.
