A large exhibition of undersea photographs from the Croatian Adriatic

A large outdoor exhibition of undersea photographs from the Croatian Adriatic, entitled: “Incomparably Blue”, is now open to the public on the banks of Bundek Lake. The exhibition’s opening coincides with the European water polo championship and the exhibited works are by eminent underwater photographers from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy.

Between the 27th of August and the 9th of September, during the European water polo championships for men and women in Zagreb, Bundek Lake will be featuring a large exhibition of undersea photographs from the Croatian Adriatic, entitled: “Incomparably Blue.” Sixty photographs by eminent underwater photographers from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy, are displayed in 122 x 122 cm format on exhibition billboards that are 220 x 130 cm in size.

This representative exhibition, which reveals the unique beauty of the preserved undersea of the Croatian Adriatic, generates an array of historical stories about the protected cultural treasure. Organizers are Astoria Special Projects ltd. and the Livingstone Association of Rijeka, who are specialized in the development and promotion of cultural tourism. This photography exhibition will tour 15 cities in Croatia and is expected to be seen by millions of people during its four month period. Thus far, the exhibition has been displayed along the seafront promenades of numerous cities on the Adriatic coast, and it is followed by a series of jumbo and city light posters in 100 locations across Croatia.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and with the support of the Croatian National Tourist Board, a national cultural campaign, “Friends of the Sea”, has been organized; this campaign unities cities and partner companies in Croatia, which share the same emotions and responsibilities towards the sea by recognizing it as a very valuable national resource.


Apart from a large number of Zagreb’s citizens, the exhibition will certainly attract the interest of numerous guests who are attending various sporting and other events that are taking place throughout September at the shores of Bundek Lake. Support for the realization of this exhibition has been provided by the Zagreb Tourist Board and, after it ends in Zagreb, the exhibition will go on display in Varaždin and Dubrovnik.
