A Summer Stage Extravaganza

The theater and music performers of the Amadeo Stage have once again organized a rich cultural program for this annual event. Taking place at the Museum of Arts and Crafts during the summer months, the 8th annual Amadeo Stage promises, once again, to be an impressive and interesting cultural extravaganza. The event will kickoff on the 5th July with an opening ceremony featuring the Go-Go Swing Orchestra and performances by many other well-known acts by domestic artists of the Croatian theater world.

Scena AmadeoThe Amadeo Stage, a theater and music extravaganza that takes place at the Museum of Arts and Crafts, will feature theater plays, concerts, and various multimedia events. Throughout the summer months audiences can look forward to performances by artists from Croatia, as well as famous theater and music acts from abroad. The annual Amadeo Stage extravaganza has become one of Zagreb’s most culturally-significant summer events and, throughout its 8-year existence, it has earned the affection of both domestic and foreign audiences. Until two years ago, its venue was the atrium of the Croatian Natural History Museum in the Upper Town. It was then moved to the Museum of Arts and Crafts, whose beautiful exterior and great acoustics provide the ideal setting for this fantastic outdoor cultural event.

Over the past seven years, more than 350 theater plays and concerts of classical and jazz music have been performed at the Amadeo Stage. There were eleven theater premieres and twelve world premieres of works by Croatian composers that were exclusively commissioned for the Amadeo Stage. Apart from the famous names from the Croatian music scene, numerous renowned musicians from abroad have also presented their work at this summer festival in Zagreb. Among them are jazz legends Clare Fischer and Saskia Laroo, the Cuban ensemble Ars Longa, and the Japanese theater troupe Urushi, American Flatiron Trio, the young virtuosos of the Spivakov Foundation from Moscow, etc.

As with previous years, this year’s Amadeo Stage promises a rich cultural program. The opening ceremony, featuring the Go-Go Swing Orchestra and performances by many well-recognized domestic acts, will be held on July 5th and subsequent presentations take place every day starting at 9 p.m.
