An International Competition in Synchronized Skating

On the 5th and the 6th of March, the ice-rink of Dom Sportova sports hall will once again be the venue to the 8th Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy. Although of a relatively short tradition, the trophy quickly became one of the five top World Competitions in Synchronized ice-skating.

Final preparations are ongoing for yet another traditional winter event in Zagreb: the 8th International Competition in Synchronized ice-skating, the popular Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy.

The competition will be held on the 5th and the 6th of March at the ice rink of Dom Sportova sports hall with some fifteen teams participating. Zagreb has a longstanding tradition of organizing ice-skating competitions starting with the Golden Pirouette of Zagreb, which is one of the oldest international competitions in figure skating in the world; to the international youth competition Golden Bear, etc.

Because of its history, Zagreb is often host to the best female synchronized ice-skaters in the world; in 2004 and 2008, the city hosted the world championships in figure-skating.
The trophy was named after the club of the same name, which numbers over a hundred members in all four official categories: juniors, seniors, cadets, and younger cadets. Of course, some of them will participate in the upcoming international competition.

On the first day, the ice-rink will feature short programs for juniors and seniors, while on the second day a free program for all four categories is scheduled. If you have never attended such competitions, now is the time to change, because synchronized ice-skating is not just a contest but also a distinctive, unique and, above all, attractive revue on ice.
