An open-air music spectacle

The fifth T-Mobile INmusic Festival will take place on June 22nd and June 23rd on the Island of Croatian Youth at Jarun Lake, where more than forty foreign, as well as Croatian, musicians will perform on a total of six large stages. The festival will feature the mega popular band Massive Attack who could not resist the invitation.

On June 22nd and 23rd, Zagreb’s popular open-air T-Mobile INmusic Festival will feature renowned musicians whose performances, in addition to other sideline events, will be enjoyed by thousands of faithful festival aficionados. Each year, the festival becomes bigger and better, and tickets for the upcoming edition are already in high demand, which is not surprising considering the lineup and the program that has been announced. In fact, Jarun will surely be the city’s focal point during those first few days of summer, for its citizens as well as visitors, to whom the festival is a regular reason to visit Zagreb. The main stars are the renowned trip-hop duo from Bristol, Massive Attack, whom the Zagreb audience already had the opportunity to see. What can be said about the band that is not already known? Apart from being hailed as trip-hop pioneers, numerous critics place them among some of the most influential bands of their generation. Throughout their career, they have cooperated with an array of musicians such as Neneh Cherry, Madonna, David Bowie, Tricky, and Sinéad O'Connor. They have, thus far, released five studio albums and the latest, “Heligoland”, which they will be promoting at the festival, has completely won over the public and critics alike.
Among the other stars who will entertain audiences from modern stages erected on the shores of Zagreb’s “sea” is LCD Soundsystem: the New York based electro-punk band known for its hits “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House”, “Disco Infiltrator”, “Time to Get Away” and “All My Friends”.
The Sony Ericsson World Stage will feature known Canadian indie rock band, Broken Social Scene, which is having a comeback after a five-year break, with their new album “Forgiveness Rock Record”.
The headliners on the Tuborg stage will be a great live band, Flogging Molly, which produces an impressive and unique sound by using instruments such as guitars, bodhráns, banjos, mandolins, drums, violins, uilleann bagpipes, concertinos, Irish flutes, etc.
After a phenomenal performance at the 2007 INmusic Festival, the visitors of this year’s festival will once again have the opportunity to enjoy an energetic performance by the New York based band, Chk Chk Chk, as well as a performance by Rise Against, a Chicago based punk-rock band, which will be performing in Croatia for the first time.
