On April 19th, the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb will once again place walking tourist informers on the city’s streets in order to help guests find their way around Zagreb as easily as possible.
Thus, for the third year in a row, tourists will have the best possible opportunity to familiarize themselves with the city’s tourist offer and find out first hand whatever may interest them about Zagreb. The tourist informers will be positioned in pairs at all the city’s major landmarks and they will walk predetermined routes around the city on a daily basis. They will have promotional materials and will be easily recognizable by their distinguishable clothing. Besides English, German, Italian, French and Spanish, they will also communicate in Hebrew, Portuguese, Russian and Dutch. Along with information about cultural landmarks and the general tourist offer in Zagreb, they will also be able to recommend the best places for entertainment, good restaurants with indigenous specialties, advise where you can find cheap accommodation and where to enjoy sporting activities, etc.
The Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb positioned the walking tourist informers on the streets of Zagreb for the first time in mid 2006. There were very high standards that had to be met when picking the potential candidates. Apart from the demanding language tests, they also had to pass training in terms of their communication skills, and because of this they have received the highest marks from guests when it comes to their knowledge and politeness.
