Dance along with Ladytron

Among many eminent musicians visiting Zagreb this year, the Liverpool based new wave band, Ladytron, will be performing on May 5th. The Croatian capital will be among the first cities in which this music sensation will present their two latest albums.

The four-member Liverpool-based new wave band, Ladytron, known for their great hit from 2005, “Destroy Everything You Touch”, will finally be visiting Zagreb on May 5th, after many years of waiting. They will perform at one of Zagreb’s most famous clubs, Aquarius, where the audience will have an opportunity to dance along to their greatest, as well as latest hits. In early March, they released their latest, fifth studio album, “Gravity the Seducer”, and according to the organizers, the band will also soon be releasing a retrospective compilation of their greatest hits. Therefore it is expected that the Zagreb audience will be among the first to see them live in a yet unseen edition.

Ladytron was founded in 1999 and the band owes its name to the famous song by Roxy Music. Their first big hit was the song Playgirl from their first album, “604”, which was released in 2001. However, they reached international fame in 2005 with the release of their third album, “Witching Hour”, and the song “Destroy Everything You Touch”, which propelled them to the top of the charts. After that, their fame ascended even further and all concerts of their world tours regularly sold out. Ladytron’s second to last studio album, “Velocifero”, was released in 2008 and made it to the top 40 most popular albums in Great Britain in just two weeks. Their latest album has not yet had the chance to make such an impact as it has only been out for a short time. Regardless, the announced compilation will surely please all of their fans.

Ladytron is otherwise known for their recognizable music style, which is a combination of new wave, pop, punk, electronic music, and digital editing; they fully deserve to be called one of the most original bands of the millennium thus far. Tickets can be purchased as of early March for a price of 130 Kuna at all Eventim box offices, as well as the Rockmark bookshop and online at www.muzika.hr.
