Deep Purple Arrives in June

The legendary British hard rock band, Deep Purple, will hold a concert in Zagreb in June, which will be a great overture to another summer in Zagreb that will, once again, feature several attractive open-air festivals.

Zagreb’s Dom Sportova Sport Hall is preparing a real treat for June 5th – a concert held by the legendary band, Deep Purple, which is fronted by one of the greatest vocals in history of rock: Ian Gillan. It will not be the first time that Deep Purple will perform in Croatia; the band previously visited Zagreb in 2003 and, exactly 3 years ago, they brought Split’s Gripe Hall to full capacity.

This British hard rock band was founded in 1968 in Hertfordshire and, along with bands such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, they are considered the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock. Although its members fiercely fight being labelled as a heavy metal band, because some of their greatest hits are based on pop music, as well as progressive rock, they are unable to shake such a “hard” image. They have been pronounced the loudest rock band in the world, which is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records
To this day, the band has changed its line-up seven times, though some have periodically recurred. They have thus far released 18 studio albums: Shades of Deep Purple, The Book of Taliesyn, Deep Purple, In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, Who Do We Think We Are, Burn, Stormbringer, Come Taste The Band, Perfect Strangers, The House of Blue Light, Slaves and Masters, The Battle Rages On, Purpendicular, Abandon, Bananas, and the latest album, Rapture of the Deep, which was released in 2005.

Apart from the studio albums, the impressive careers of all seven line-ups of Deep Purple have also produced 32 live concert albums, 15 compilations, and 17 various videographies.
Concert tickets will soon be available for purchase.
