Dropkick Murphys at Šalata

On June 16th, Zagreb’s Šalata will be the venue for a concert by the American/Irish/Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys, which already performed in Zagreb two years ago, filling the Culture Factory club to capacity. This time around, they will hold an open air show.

On June 16th, the American/Irish/Celtic band Dropkick Murphys will perform a concert for their numerous fans at Zagreb’s Šalata. The open air concert is part of their European tour, in which they usually perform at festivals, so this Zagreb performance is quite an exclusive one.

The band’s last show in Zagreb, which took place at the Culture Factory, was sold out very quickly. Judging by the current sales of fan-pit tickets, which can already be purchased at the Zig Zag Medveščak ice hockey club fan shop, the regular tickets for this Dropkick Murphys concert will also be hot items. 

The band was formed in 1996 in Quincy, Massachusetts. Two years later they released their first album, “Do or Die”, and have since released a total of eight studio records. When they wrote their first song, “Barroom Hero”, they were surprised by how much the melody reminded them of Irish folk music, which they listened to when they were kids. The songwriter, bassist and one of the lead singers of the band, Ken Casey, once said it was then that they realised how Irish music had a greater influence on them than they had thought.

Tickets for the Dropkick Murphys concert cost 170 kuna and they can be purchased at the usual stores and box-offices.
