Eighty films in seven programmes

Along with the five existing programmes, this year’s Zagreb Film Festival will feature two additional new programmes, which are not going to be screened on the SC premises. Instead, this year's programme is going to be shown on several locations in Zagreb – at the cinemas Europa, Tuškanac, and Dokukino Croatia as well as the Dance Centre and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The 8th Zagreb Film Festival is going to be held in several locations across the city, between the 17th and the 23rd of October. This year the programme is not going to be screened on the SC premises. Instead, it is going to be shown on several locations in Zagreb – at the cinemas Europa, Tuškanac, and Dokukino Croatia as well as the Dance Centre, while a part of the program will be screened at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The festival will host a total of eighty films in seven different programmes; along with the already existing five programs, this year’s audience will have the opportunity to see films that are part of two additional new programmes – “Film Protest” at the Dance Centre, and “Foreign, But Ours” at the Tuškanac cinema.

This year’s main programme will feature new debut films that are competing for the festival’s main award: the “Golden Pram”. “Checkers” is a programme in which Croatian short films compete for the prize, while the “Vip Bib for Kids” programme is intended for children. The “My First Film” programme will be focused on films by German directors, while the “Great 5” program will feature blockbusters from five important European cinematographies.

The first new programme, “Film Protest”, will feature films that deal with themes of citizen protest, while the other, “Foreign, But Ours”, will feature films produced abroad with a major contribution from Croatian artists and actors.
