From Rockabilly to Tango

BP is the best known jazz club in Zagreb. It opened its doors at Teslina Street no. 7 in the downtown area of Zagreb exactly twenty years ago, on 1 April. Since then, numerous eminent world musicians have appeared in the club and shared the joy of "traveling through the night" on the wings of good music, friendship and laughter.

After the Century of Blues program which took place between 9 and 16 January, the Music Caroussel 2008 is to take place at the BP Club in February.

Music Caroussel is a program at which Yamaha and Eurounit present musicians of different styles who will entertain not only jazz aficionados but also all lovers of good music. The program kicks off on 9 February with a performance by Zagreb’s Swingers band and ends on 15 February with Tango Appassionato.

On 10 February, BP Club will feature the rockabilly group, Adam & His Nuclear Rockets, on 11 February will be BP Trio, and 12 February is reserved for the international Yamaha All Stars Band.
Famous Croatian pop-singer, Nina Badrić, will perform on Wednesday, 13 February, accompanied by the well known jazz guitar player and composer, Ante Gelo and his band. On 14 February, Valentine’s Day, pianist David Gazarov is in charge of candlelight music.

The founder and the soul behind the BP Club is the famous vibraphonist, composer, producer and jazz educator, Boško Petrović. Besides the club, Boško Petrović also owns the Jazette Records recording company and label. He has organized a number of jazz concerts and he performs regularly around the world with his BP Trio band or as a soloist together with leading international musicians. He has performed with the greatest names in jazz, such as Stan Getz, Tito Puente, Johnny Griffin, Scott Hamilton, and John Lewis to name but a few.

Once again, in March, BP Club will be the venue for the famous Springtime Jazz Fever 2008. Every year, the event gathers the best known international jazz musicians whose gigs are always sold out well in advance.
