German D.A.F. at club Močvara

Known names from the world of music, along with a performance program, installations, urban actions, and lectures will mark the third Zagrebi!Festival. The festival, organized in several locations throughout the city, will also feature the first ever Croatian performance by the German group D.A.F.

On the 10th and the 11th of September, the Flower Square, the Zagreb Dance Centre, club Močvara and the DokuKino documentary cinema will all be venues for the third Zagrebi!Festival. Through various forms of artistic and intellectual expressions, the festival encompasses various themes, ranging from the cultural life in urban communities, through human regard for the environment, to imposed limitations of all kinds and control of power centres. The programme consists of an array of performances, installations, urban actions, lectures and film projections. As part of the festival, the German group D.A.F. (Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft), which is considered to be the forerunner of electronic dance music and electro punk, will perform for the first time in Croatia on September 11th at club Močvara.

The group, founded in 1978 in Düsseldorf, consists of the socially-conscious, creative duo Robert Görl and Gabriel Delgado. These undoubtedly creative musicians have inscribed their names into the history of dance music through their golden hits; avant-garde music solutions combined with extremely provocative lyrics and packaged into dance music, which has attracted large numbers of fans from across the world.

Ticket prices are 135 Kuna in the pre-sale, while on the day itself the price will be 160 Kuna.
From the programme of the 3rd Zagrebi!Festival, we would like to point out the dance performance, “Farewell, To The End Of The World As We Know It”, by Maida Withers & the Dance Construction Company from the USA.

The audience will have an opportunity to see this performance on September 10th at the Zagreb Dance Centre, as well as talk to the choreographer. Despite her mature age, Maida Withers is still inspired to create and perform shows across the world.
Also not to be missed is a lecture by Dr. Davor Pavuna: “Who Controls Knowledge”. As a physicist, innovator, and one of the advisors of President Barack Obama, his outspoken appearances always attract public attention; he will hold a lecture on September 11th at Flower Square.
The schedule for all the events at the 3rd Zagrebi!Festival can be found online at www.zagrebi.com.
