Miniature Storm

If you are interested in one of the most important events of modern Croatian history, the military operation Storm, the last major operation of the Homeland War, you should know that the most interesting details from it have been presented in an exhibition featured at the Technical Museum, which consists of military scale models of vehicles that participated in the operation. The exhibition can be viewed until 18th November.

The Technical Museum now offers a real exhibition treat, effectively presenting to the audience one of the most significant military operations in modern Croatian history, Operation Storm, which was a prelude to victory in the Homeland War. The exhibition features scale models of military vehicles identical to the ones that participated in the real operation. Hence the title of the exhibition: Miniature Storm.

The exhibition was opened in mid-October, and it can be viewed until 18th November. It was realized in a joint effort by the representatives of the Technical Museum and members of Signum Laudis, the association for the promotion of history, art and technical culture, whose president is also the brains behind the exhibition.

The presented scale models, vignettes and dioramas have been built and set up so as to familiarize or remind visitors of the most important technical aspects of Operation Storm. Therefore, visitors have an opportunity to examine the tiniest details of the 35 exhibited models, including armoured personnel carriers and armoured fighting vehicles, tanks, helicopters, airplanes and guns...

The exhibition will also feature screenings of documentaries, made by veterans of the Homeland War, through which the visitors will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with this historic operation. The concurrent program will also feature numerous lectures by retired soldiers and officers, and a presentation of the book on improvised armoured fighting vehicles. Scale modelling workshops will also be organized on Saturdays.
