New attire for the ninth decade

By the end of August next year, the old wing of the Dubrovnik Hotel, located in the main city square, will have been completely renovated. The reconstruction of rooms and other facilities at the hotel, which has entered its 9th decade, will give it a new shine.

By the end of August next year, the Dubrovnik Hotel will shine in new attire. The reconstruction plan includes the refurbishment of rooms and suites in the old wing of the hotel as well as a new façade, roof and reception area, which will be moved from the inside of the building closer to the street.

The refurbishment project also includes a congress hall with 350 seats; this will contribute to the already existing seminar facilities and make the hotel suitable for hosting an even bigger number of business meetings.

Hotel management has assured that the reconstruction project will not disrupt the usual business of the hotel, which boasts above average overall bookings, even on weekends, due to the increasing popularity of Zagreb as a city break destination. The new wing of the hotel, recognizable to the citizens of Zagreb and their guests for its modern, glass façade, is the favourite home away from home of numerous individuals and business guests.

The Dubrovnik Hotel is the only hotel in Zagreb that provides live booking: guests need not wait on their reservation confirmation; their booking is processed automatically. While the renovation project is ongoing, new and exciting developments are taking place in the hotel's kitchen. The restaurant’s menu, based on healthy food choices, is being adapted to the modern-day culinary trends. The new menu will be based on salads, soups, light pasta dishes, and a particularly wide range of natural juices. However, the consumption of food will not be restricted to the restaurant alone – takeaway meals will certainly be very welcome by many among the estimated 300,000 pedestrians who pass through Ban Josip Jelačić Square each day.

The Dubrovnik Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Zagreb; it opened in 1929 in the heart of the city, right in the middle of the pedestrian zone. The hotel is located within the vicinity of the most important cultural landmarks, famous parks and promenades of Zagreb, the popular Tkalčićeva Street with an array of bars and restaurants, as well as the always colourful Dolac green market. Shopping opportunities within the vicinity of the hotel are also abundant thanks to various fashion shops, souvenir stores, popular cafes, etc…
