In organization by the Zagreb Tourist Board, Croatian National Tourist Board and the first and the only guide for people with impaired hearing, Ms. Vanda Šagovac; Mr. Joel Barish - journalist and TV presenter from the United States is visiting Zagreb these days.
Mr. Barish is a traveler, adventurer and host of TV show "No Barriers" that follows the standard of life of deaf people around the world and also covers and promotes the country he and his team are visiting. TV crew will be in Croatia from May 20th - May 28th, and will visit Zagreb and Zagreb County, as well as Pula, Split, Dubrovnik, Karlovac, Plitvice Lakes and Krka. This is the first visit of this kind to Zagreb and Croatia.
The Zagreb Tourist Board hosted many journalists and members of the media from the beginning of this year. From January, we had 35 organized visits of members of the media with a total of 70 people from around the world, and by the end of May we’re expecting journalists from Switzerland, USA, Canada, UK, France and Germany.
The cooperation with the media, both foreign and domestic, is the most important form of promotion of tourist destinations, and is returned several times through publication of various articles, reports or TV shows.
For example, at the beginning of May in France came out a special guidebook called "Zagreb l'essentiel" on 160 pages, showing all the most important sites and venues in the Croatian capital. The guidebook is a result of cooperation between the Zagreb Tourist Board and journalist Emmanuelle Bluman, and is included in the collection of "Guide Capital(es)", alongside Rome, Barcelona, Prague and other major cities of the world.
