The 7th Vip Zagreb Jazz Festival

Jazz aficionados can expect four days of great music as impressive names from the global jazz scene will be performing at the 7th Vip Zagreb Jazz Festival, which will take place between the 10th and the 13th of November at the Student Centre.

Between the 10th and the 13th of November, the Student Centre will be hosting the 7th Vip Zagreb Jazz Festival. It is the biggest Croatian jazz festival, and this year it will feature impressive names from the global music scene, including: the recipient of 18 Grammys and the greatest star of this year’s edition of the festival, Pat Metheny; one of the greatest living jazz pianists, McCoy Turner; a highly regarded musician of a younger generation, Lucky Peterson; and tenor saxophonist, Pharoah Sanders.

The festival will open with a concert by the McCoy Tyner Trio, accompanied by Jose James and Chris Potter. The great guitarist Pat Metheny will also perform with his trio, which includes contrabassists Larry Grenadier and percussionist Bill Stewart. Furthermore, the Zagreb audience can also look forward to an interesting performance by blues musician Lucky Peterson; his performances often include other styles of music – such as pop, soul, gospel, R&B, rock and country – so he can certainly be regarded as a musician with a wide musical interest. Pharoah Sanders will also be performing with his quartet.

Tickets for the 7th Vip Zagreb Jazz Festival can be purchased at the Aquarius CD shop Klasika & Jazz on Varšavska Street.
