Legendary Professor Balthazar, the best known character from the Zagreb School of Animated Film, has recently become the protagonist of an entertaining game for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. In order to take a peek into the magical world of fictional Balthazargrad, one must only download a simple application, which is available at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/balthazar/id454683939?mt=8#. The game, which has been adapted for both children and adults, features nine levels and is available in three languages.

Professor Balthazar is a charming scientist who solves his fellow citizens’ problems with the help of a complicated machine, his imagination and loads of positive energy. He is an aficionado of nature and all living things, a fighter against evil, an ecologist, and advocate of knowledge, tolerance, peace and love. He is funny, imaginative, modest and unobtrusive, accommodating and self-scarifying, and he solves all of the problems of his fellow citizens in a humane and acceptable Balthazar-like way. He is the main character from a series of cult cartoons conceived at the Zagreb School of Animated Film, created between 1968 and 1972. All 59 episodes of this cult animated series can nowadays be found in digital format.

The content and numerous tasks in the game have been conceptualized according to situations familiar to viewers, but since those are older generations, these new virtual adventures of Professor Balthazar give the younger generations an insight into the magical Balthazargrad.
