The best promotional video: “Moonlight Sonata Zagreb”
As part of the largest international tourism exchange, the ITB in Berlin, there is a fierce competition of promotional music videos nominated for the “Das Goldene Stadttor” award. Among the entries, the public decided that the video by the Zagreb Tourist Board, “Moonlight Sonata Zagreb”, was worthy of first place.
The international promotion of Zagreb has, once again, won over the hearts of the public. The promotional music video, “Moonlight Sonata Zagreb”, has been proclaimed as the best video amongst a fierce competition for the “Das Goldene Stadttor” award, which is traditionally presented during the largest international tourism exchange, the ITB in Berlin.
With the Moonlight Sonata as a musical accompaniment, Zagreb has been portrayed as a destination in which romance has no boundaries. Those who are familiar with Zagreb, especially the Upper Town, will certainly agree that the romantic atmosphere is one of the city’s best traits.
The main protagonist of the “Moonlight Sonata Zagreb” video is the renowned Croatian violoncellist, Ana Rucner, who enjoys the city’s beauties whilst playing the tune with support from an attractive male dancer. The video’s executive producer is the distinguished Croatian director, Jakov Sedlar.
Although less than five minutes in length, the existing scenes are enough to intrigue the imagination of all who have not yet had an opportunity to visit Zagreb. At night, when the entire Upper Town is illuminated by lanterns, the city looks like a scene from a fairytale.
The combination of a well-known melody with attractive night scenes of the Croatian capital clearly had a strong impact on the entire body of judges, a total of 45 members who almost unanimously proclaimed this video as the best. If you do visit Zagreb, make sure to see the Upper Town at night. Although you may not hear the tune of the Moonlight Sonata, there will be no shortage of romance.
