The biggest feline event in 2012!

The biggest feline gathering in the world, World Cat Show, will take place in Zagreb on 27th and 28th October. According to the organizer, this will be the biggest cat fest this year. The Zagreb Arena, the event’s venue, will be host to over 1,500 cats coming from over 30 countries around the world.

It was a long road for Croatia, but the result is finally here: on 27th and 28th October, Zagreb will host the World Cat Show, the biggest cat fest of 2012, under the auspices of FIFe, the International Feline Federation. The Croatian show is sponsored by the Association of Croatian Felinological Organizations, the Republic of Croatia and the city of Zagreb. The big event will be graced by more than 1,500 of the most beautiful cats in the world and their owners. The event’s venue will be the Zagreb Arena, a complex which received an architectural award in 2009, the year it was opened. The Arena has about 800 parking places and another 30 for buses. Adjacent to the Arena is a large namesake shopping centre with a number of stores, designer label shops, cafés and restaurants. Therefore, the feline lovers can rest assured that their breaks will be spent in an interesting way, and since the Arena is only a short 15-minute drive from the city centre, Zagreb's main highlights are also within easy reach. As for the show itself, one thing is certain: the most beautiful cats in the world will come to Zagreb since no other feline shows are scheduled to take place anywhere else in the world on those days. Therefore, Zagreb's show will be the biggest and most important cat show in 2012.

According to relevant statistics, world cat shows are typically attended by anywhere between 1,400 and 1,600 cat owners, so a similar number is expected to show up in Zagreb.

The official part of the show and the judging will take place on Saturday, 27th October. Sunday is reserved for a more informal Best in Show programme. However, informal and more entertaining parts of the programme will take place on both days, both on the stage and in separate dedicated areas in the Arena. Visitors to the show, especially the youngest ones, will have the opportunity to try their hand at sculpting and painting at workshops where fun will be had by all.

The technical partner and sponsor of the entire event is the travel agency Kompas Zagreb, which will be in charge of all the technical details: accommodation, social programmes, the gala dinner, transfers, proposals for sightseeing tours and a list of things to do and see in the city.
