The First Century of Existence

Zagreb's Palace Hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2007. The building which has housed the hotel all this time was first built in 1891 in the secession style, and it bore the owner’s name, Schlesinger Palace. In 1907, the palace was reconstructed and become the Palace Hotel and Inn, the first hotel opened in Zagreb.

The hotel occupies a very central position on J.J. Strossmayer Square, next to Zrinjevac and King Tomislav Parks, both over two hundred years old.
In the hotel's vicinity there are a number of museums, galleries and cultural monuments. The main city square of Ban Jelačić, Gradec, the hundreds of years old historical city nucleus, and the Croatian National Theater are all a short ten-minute walk from the hotel.
In addition to the luxuriously equipped rooms, five suites and a most exquisite café bistro, the hotel also boasts the Strossmayer Restaurant in which the head chef, Ivica Štruml, prepares delicious meals which won him the titles of Chef of the Year in 2002 and 2003. The Palace delicacies have carried the fame of the hotel beyond the national borders and have been recognized as authentic Croatian specialties.
The hotel also has two meeting rooms 'Krleža' and 'Zrinski' with the respective capacities of 50 and 100 seats and all the necessary equipment to hold seminars, business meetings and presentations.
