The first music-specific bookstore and reading room in Croatia

An attractive music-specific bookstore and reading room, Rockmark, was opened in mid-February in the city centre, on Berislavićeva Street. It is the first such bookstore in Croatia, where visitors can read musicians’ biographies, enjoy socializing with people of similar music interests, exchange ideas, and be informed about the latest news from the world of music.

Since mid-February, Berislavićeva Street in the city centre has been the location of Rockmark, the first music-specific bookstore in Croatia, which was conceived as a centre for music culture and concurrent contents, whilst offering visitors a unique atmosphere inspired by music.

The bookstore will surely become a unique place of gathering of music and related literature aficionados. Apart from biographies of various musicians, encyclopaedias of various musical styles, and numerous music magazines, books about film actors will also be on offer to customers.

The goal of this unique project is to invite readers to socialize over a coffee or another beverage, without having to commit to buying a book, which will make the bookstore much more than just a point of sale. The offer will soon expand to include ticket sales for all concerts and related cultural events in Croatia as well as abroad, in addition to an array of music-related souvenirs and memorabilia.

Attracting the most attention thus far is the Cranberries rock band’s white guitar, a gift from one of their fans, which is just one item among many exhibited at the bookstore. Though some of these items are not for sale because they belong to private collections and are on loan to Rockmark, they nonetheless greatly contribute to the atmosphere of this unique bookstore.
