The World Championship Air Rifle Competition for disabled people

Between the 16th and the 24th of July, Zagreb will be host to the World Championship Air Rifle Competition for persons with disabilities. The main organizer of the competition, the Croatian Paralympic Committee, is announcing this great sporting spectacle, which will also serve as a qualifying competition for participation in the 2012 London Paralympics.

Between the 16th and the 24th of July, the Vrapčanski potok shooting range in Zagreb will be the venue for the World Championship Air Rifle Competition for persons with disabilities. The competition will feature a total of 273 athletes from 44 countries, and it will also serve as the qualification competition for participation in the 2012 London Paralympics.

Croatia has a very long riflery tradition, which is one of the reasons why the International Paralympic Committee has decided to give Zagreb this opportunity to host the World Championship.

In addition, the Croatian Paralympic Committee has proved itself to be a great organizer of various national as well as international events over the last decade, while the sports results of our contestants also affirm Croatia as a successful sporting nation.
The opening ceremony of the World Championship is scheduled for July 16th and will begin at 7 p.m. in the main city square, where a varied cultural programme will be taking place.

Contests will be ongoing every day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
