The World on a Plate - A gastro spectacle in the heart of the city

Take a stroll to the European Square where the World on a Plate Festival, taking place between the 8th and 18th of September, will allow you to explore the flavours of global cuisines and possibly win a trip to an exotic destination.

Between the 8^th and 18^th of September, the European Square will be the venue for the 2^nd World on a Plate Festival which will take visitors on an unforgettable gastro journey around the world. During this trip visitors will have the opportunity to taste dishes from many countries, get to know new flavours of various cuisines and “travel” the continents of Asia, America and Europe.

Of course, the journey begins in Croatia, with selected delicacies and performances by folklore ensembles and “klapa” groups, and a spectacular re-enactment of the historic battle of the Zrinski and Frankopan families. After that, visitors can explore the flavours of other countries of their choice, and the offer is sure to include something to everyone’s taste. Apart from traditional specialties of Macedonia, Italy, Russia and other countries closer to Croatia, the festival will also present the flavours and customs of Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Paraguay and many other countries. There will also be a celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, salsa dance programmes and Japanese martial arts demonstrations. Do not forget to gather the national flags of the five countries whose specialties you have tasted, because they can win you a trip to an exotic destination.
