The world skiing elite once again on Sljeme

Zagreb is once again getting ready for another memorable event which will take place on the 4th and 6th of January at Sljeme, where the world's best slalom skiers will compete for points in the World Ski Cup.

Once again, the Croatian capital will pull out all the stops for the upcoming Audi FIS World Cup Vip Snow Queen Trophy - the slalom races of the best skiers in the world which will take place on the 4th and the 6th of January. The venue will be Sljeme, the mountain peak which towers over Zagreb.

Not only are these Zagreb races part of the World Ski Cup, but they are also considered among the most attractive such events in the world. That fact will be proven again this year, as Zagreb is stepping up preparation activities, not only for the races, but also for the amazing before and after parties for visitors and the skiers.

The 9th consecutive women’s slalom race will be held on January 4th. The first run is scheduled to start at 3:45 P.M., while the second run will start at 6:30 P.M. Although the one and only "snow queen", Janica Kostelić, after whom the race was named, will not be participating herself, organizers are expecting the arrival of the world's best current skiers, so the race will definitely not lack in excitement.

The same goes for the men’s slalom. Local audiences will have the opportunity to watch their own "king", Ivica Kostelić, as well as many other world class skiers in action. That fact alone is a guarantee for an unforgettable atmosphere. The men’s slalom race will take place on January 6th. The runs will begin at 10:45 A.M. and 2 P.M.

Skiing legends will continue to ride on the wave of the excitement surrounding the men’s slalom races during yet another traditional humanitarian event known as the Zagreb Ski Legends’ Race.  Starting at 5:30 P.M., it will feature some of the greatest skiing legends of all time, such as Alberto Tomba, who never misses an opportunity to participate.

During the races at Sljeme, the city centre will also feature entertainment events and an excellent gastronomic offer. Ticket prices, which range from 25 kuna for children to 120 kuna for a two day package, include organized transport to Sljeme, free food and drink, admission to all concerts and the opportunity to watch the world's best skiers compete live.

All in all, in 2013, Sljeme will again confirm its reputation as one of the best and most entertaining slalom races of the World Ski Cup on the planet.
