The youth for youth

For the sixth summer in a row, between June 27th and July 9th, Ribnjak Park will feature yet another open-air “Park-in-Zagreb” festival. This event is intended for all who wish to spend the hot summer days interacting with young people from all over the world.

Among the numerous summer festivals in Zagreb, intended for all generations, the younger population will certainly pick the one taking place – for the sixth year in a row now – in one of Zagreb’s favourite parks, Ribnjak. The park is located two tram stops away from the main square and, during the festival, which will take place between June 27th and July 9th, there will be all-day programmes for younger generations.

The “Park-in-Zagreb” festival is a summer entertainment and culture festival with a free, yet diverse, programme. The main target audience are people between the ages of 1 and 30, but there will be programmes that both the younger as well as the older generations will be able to enjoy.

The festival will feature troupes of young artists from all over the world and, as such, will attract the youth from all over Zagreb, as well as guests of the city. The entire programme has been designed with that goal in mind, so visitors of Ribnjak Park will have the opportunity to enjoy concerts, plays, workshops, performances, exhibitions, projections, and literary gatherings every day of the festival’s duration. All of these attractions will be taking place in the deep shade of the forest, or at Purgeraj club, which is located in the heart of the park.

The programme will take place every day in three shifts: morning, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.; afternoon, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and evening, from 8 p.m. until as long as there are still people there… The festival has additional programmes: one day will be entirely dedicated to Spanish culture (last year it was Africa), and there will be weekend sports and entertainment programmes such as games of Ludo or dodge-ball etc.

The main organizers of the festival are the KULA association, the Ribnjak Youth Centre, and Artim Production; co-organizers include numerous other associations, cultural centres, clubs and individuals.
