Third Consecutive Spectacle on Sljeme

In 2005, the Croatian Ski Federation organized the first World Ski Cup slalom race for women on Sljeme, the highest peak of Zagrebačka Gora. Every year since, the race has brought more attractive skiing names and has been attended by an increasing number of spectators. This year, the Snow Queen Trophy will take place between 15 and 17 February. The race got its name after the best Croatian skier of all times, Janica Kostelić. This year, the best male skiers will take part at the Audi World Cup of the Snow Queen Trophy.

Every year since, the race has brought more attractive skiing names and has been attended by an increasing number of spectators. The ladies' race will take place on Friday, 15 February, and the men will compete in slalom on Sunday, 17 February 2008. In addition to the two official races, on 17 February there will also be a humanitarian race under the title Zagreb Ski Legends. Sixteen ski giants such as Alberto Tomba, Marc Girardelli, Franz Klammer, Janica Kostelić, Vreni Schneider and Michaela Dorfmeister will take part in the parallel grand slalom race and a donation from that humanitarian event will go to the Special Hospital for Chronic Children's Diseases in Gornja Bistra.

Like last year, when over fifteen thousand spectators enjoyed the excellent competition program, the organizer has prepared entertainment, free public transport to the slopes, food, drinks, concerts and a prize drawing for all with paid tickets.

From Thursday, 14 February to Sunday, 17 February, an entertainment program will take place on Ban Jelačić Square in the city center. There will be concerts, DJs and competition games for spectators who will all benefit from the live video wall footage of all three races on Sljeme.
