“Zagreb & Belgrade Gay Guide 2012”

The “Zagreb & Belgrade Gay Guide 2012” application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad now follows the printed version of the Zagreb Gay Guide and provides information on gay friendly places in town, as well as useful advice and tips on how to have fun in Zagreb.

Admittedly, Zagreb may not be one of the typical European gay-friendly destinations, but it is still a metropolis to which the gay population is more than welcome and where quite a number of gay-friendly places offer bags of fun and entertainment. That is why the Zagreb Tourist Board and the Queer Association of Zagreb have teamed up to print an all-encompassing gay guide which may be obtained at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) at the main square, and as of January it may be uploaded as an application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

The application, whose exact name is “Zagreb & Belgrade Gay Guide 2012”, may be found at the following link: http://www.guidegecko.com/zagreb-belgrade-gay-app.html. As may be seen from the title, the application costs 1.99 dollars to upload and it features an integral, regularly updated list of gay-friendly places in Zagreb and Belgrade, as the two capitals, unlike others in the South-East Europe region, pride themselves on a good offer for the gay population.

The application features a well marked map and a list of all gay-friendly clubs, bars and accommodation opportunities, ranging from private apartments to hostels and hotels with particularly positive attitudes towards the gay population. There is also advice and a lot of useful tips on how to spend a pleasant holiday in the two aforementioned destinations.

Zagreb is still not a well established gay destination and our gay tourists will primarily come in pursuit of good entertainment, festivals and events, as well as the atmosphere of tolerance. This is why this guide opens the door to the gay population, which already visits the city in relatively large numbers. The printed guide, whose updated edition for 2012 will soon be available, is full of information and serves as a tool for easier orientation around the city. In addition, there is a plan to open an incoming agency which will provide a quality service to foreign agencies and tour operators in the foreseeable future to help them organize gay friendly accommodation and holidays in Zagreb.
