The city has been described as a unique combination of Slavic and Mediterranean lifestyles, while the famous Museum of Contemporary Art makes it an artistic centre of the region.

Or so claim the authors of a prominent article recently published in the renowned French daily, Le Figaro, which is the second most-read newspaper in France, which readers have trusted since 1862. According to Le Figaro, Zagreb’s dual identity, a distinctive blend of Slavic and Mediterranean lifestyles, represents a unique image that certainly must be discovered.

However, the city’s traditional appearance as well as its history and unique atmosphere, have in recent years become further enhanced by an important novelty: the magnificent building of the Museum of Contemporary Art and all it offers within. This, according to Le Figaro, is one of the main reasons why Zagreb must be taken seriously as a new artistic centre of the entire region.
The article further states how Zagreb appears perfectly maintained with its “horseshoe” of gardens and parks that surround the historic city centre. Apart from the standard passages, in which the author states personal impressions, such as walks along the Upper Town and the Dolac market, the article also mentions that life on the streets, especially during warm weather, is very lively.
