The 7th edition of the World Theater Festival will host productions by some of the world's most celebrated theatre directors. The plays will be staged from September 18th through September 26th at the Zagreb Youth Theatre (ZKM), the Croatian National Theatre (HNK), the Zagreb Puppet Theatre, as well as at Zagreb Fair by theatrical troupes from Russia, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy.
The World Theatre Festival will open with Lev Dodin's dramatization of Grossman's novel “Life and Fate” performed by the Maly Teatr from Saint Petersburg.
For the first time, Croatian audiences will be able to see works by authors such as Christoph Marthaler and Heiner Goebbels - German directors who set trends in European theatre. Christoph Marthaler's “Fruit Fly” is produced by the Berlin Volksbühne am Rosa Luxemburg-Platz, whereas Heiner Goebbels's play “Stifter's Things” is performed by the Théâtre Vidy Lausanne.
Since the World Theater Festival takes pride in presenting only the best theater achievements, characterized by high quality and innovativeness, this year's edition will certainly present a special treat for dramatic art lovers from Croatia and abroad.
