Zagreb like you have never experienced before

Apart from classic tourist tours, Zagreb is offering tourists some less orthodox programs; visitors can get to know the city on two wheels, from the air, by train, or simply through interesting historical stories…

For those who wish to experience something new and different in each city they visit, Zagreb offers several attractive programs of organized sightseeing tours.

One of these - “The Women of Zagreb” Tour – enables tourists to get to know famous and lesser-known female citizens of Zagreb who, each in her own way, marked a certain part of Zagreb’s past. The tour embarks every Friday at 5 p.m. from the main city square of Ban Jelačić, and it connects the most attractive city locations. Through interesting stories, tourists learn of the customs and events in which the main roles were played by Zagreb’s women.

The other such project is named “Do You Speak Croatian?” and it is being organized on Saturdays from 1 p.m. Along with information from which tourists can learn about the Croatian language and the first Croatian script, participants will also have an opportunity to learn a few Croatian words as well as hear an array of other interesting facts about the best known motifs of Zagreb and Croatia, for example the famous tie and where the name of this fashion accessory came from.

Zagreb also has its own tourist train, which tours all of the downtown tourist destinations, and it leaves the main city square every hour.

For those who wish to visit as many city landmarks in as short a time as possible, there is an exciting tour called the Segway City Tour Zagreb. This appealing tour is conducted by segway, the world’s first increasingly-popular, self-balancing personal transporter. Now, you can tour Zagreb whilst gliding on one of these vehicles. The program includes four different tours: the Zagreb “All Around” Tour lasts for about two hours and takes tourists to locations outside the city centre; the Zagreb “Leisure” Tour lasts for about one hour and fifteen minutes; the up to two-hour-long Zagreb “Nightlight” Tour, whose name speaks for itself; and the final, Segway “Basic Ride” Tour lasts for just under one hour and includes the main attractions in the heart of the city centre.

The most exciting, however, is sightseeing from the air. The hot air balloon club of Zagreb offers tourists attractive hot air balloon flights above the city and its surroundings. The offer includes several flying options and several different balloons, which includes the famous Zagreb balloon: the competition balloon of the Croatian national team. The flight lasts for about one hour after which there is a complimentary glass of champagne and a balloon christening, as every participant of this tour directly becomes a club member, which is attested with a certificate.
