The opening of the newest location for comic-book enthusiasts confirms Zagreb’s reputation as a city of 9th Art. Sculptures from the Interscapes series dating from the early 1990s, and multimedia installations from the Collectors series created in 2000, are part of the opus donated by the internationally renowned artist Duba Sambolec called “Object Without Dignity”. Having visited Zagreb, or any other city for that matter, many tourists will welcome the opportunity to buy souvenirs. Since it was opened in 1874, the Palainovka Café in the Upper Town has become and remains one of Zagrebers’ favourite spots. It was reopened once again in mid-July, and is even more beautiful than ever after yet another total make-over.
Strollers through Tuškanac, the leafy oasis in the very centre of the city, can look forward to a special treat: after 42 years they can again enjoy an outdoor movie-watching experience on the stage of the Tuškanac Summer Cinema. Throughout the summer and autumn there will be projections of blockbusters and lesser known movies, concerts, exhibitions and shows.
Opatovina in the Upper Town will again become a stage where the actors of the Histrion Theatre Troupe will appear every day until 2 September during the 27th Zagreb Histrion Summer.
