At this year’s feature-length edition of Animafest Zagreb 2013, which will take place between June 4th and June 9th at Europa Cinema and the Cineplexx Centar Kaptol, fans of animation will truly come unto their own as they can look forward to a diverse programme of films as well as an array of concurrent events.

With the opening of the Educational Centre and the permanent exhibit space “Diversity of the World of Mushrooms” located on the city’s central square, Zagreb has got its first ever Mushroom Museum. The exhibit consisting of more than five thousand mushrooms will teach visitors about the world of fungi.

To the great joy of the Zagreb audience, one of the greatest orchestras in the world, the Vienna Philharmonic, will open the new season of the Zagreb Philharmonic on September 27th at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.

This year’s Sava Day featured the 1st International Race “The Sava Cycling Tour 2013”. Eight experienced cyclists, representatives of bicycling associations from four countries through which the Sava River flows – Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, took part in the tour.

The Memorial Centre of the Zagreb Rocket Attacks 1991 – 1995 has recently been opened in the city centre, on Petrićeva Street, in memory of the civilians who were killed and injured in the rocket attack which occurred on May 2nd 1995.

The famous French acrobat troupe, Compagnie XY, has been entertaining audiences around the world since 2009 with their popular show, “Le Grand C”. On June 8th they will perform at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.
