The two-hour evening tour, “Advent in a different way”, can be taken between December 6th and 22nd to give you an insight into the old and lesser known Advent customs of Zagreb and make you an active participant in this educational programme.
During the Days of Croatian Tourism, the largest annual gathering of tourism professionals, Zagreb was voted the best destination in continental Croatia, and it was included in the top three tourism centres in the country.
Zagreb is intensely promoting itself as a tourist destination in distant markets, so guests visiting the Croatian capital can obtain brochures in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and, as of recently, Arabic languages.
The string of parks in central Zagreb, forming what is known as Lenuci’s Green Horseshoe, has recently received a great award: the silver plaque and a special international prize at the Golden Flower of Europe 2013.
Although romantic at all times of the year, during the Advent period Zagreb practically outdoes itself and guarantees a holiday atmosphere and entertainment for all generations with different tastes in music as well as other celebratory affinities.
Although it is 140 years old, and it is a reflection of Croatian history, Zagreb’s Zrinjevac Park is also young thanks to the people who relax there, enjoying the beautiful flowers and rows of trees. Living a contemporary life, they travel back in time.
If you have a penchant for autochthonous specialties or simply wish to treat yourself to an affordably priced quality meal, make sure to reserve a seat at the Plitvička Kuća national restaurant, where you can also look forward to a fantastic celebration of St. Martin’s Day when the must turns into wine.
As part of their large European tour, during which they will promote their third studio album, “Later…When the TV Turns Into Static”, the critically acclaimed Scottish indie band, Glasvegas, will visit Zagreb for the first time and perform a concert at Močvara on November 26th.
