This year’s autumn music events will once again be marked by jazz concerts, which are traditionally organized throughout October. Numerous musicians from the domestic as well as global jazz scene will perform in renowned events such as the Croatian Jazz Meeting /Hrvatski Jazz Sabor/ and the International Days of Jazz.
A new kosher diner, Lifestyle, has recently been opened in the heart of the city. Located on Margaretska Street, it offers an array of meat-free dishes prepared according to the strict Jewish dietary laws, which is proved by kosher certification.
The great musician, Mariza, currently one of the most popular fado singers in the world, is once again coming to Zagreb. She will hold a concert on November 3rd at the Hypo Centre on Slavonska Avenue. Apart from her vocal ability, her performances are particularly memorable for their exquisite stage shows.
This year, the second edition of the “Perforations – a week of live arts” festival will present three different programs, which will be taking place between the 16th and the 25th of October in Zagreb, Rijeka and Dubrovnik. The themes highlighted by the artists will be ecological engagement and climate change.
According to recommendations by the renowned French daily newspaper, Le Figaro, Zagreb is an ideal weekend break destination. The city has been described as a unique combination of Slavic and Mediterranean lifestyles, while the famous Museum of Contemporary Art makes it an artistic centre of the region.
One of the most distinctive musicians in the world, piano genius Evgeny Kissin, will be part of yet another interesting concert season 2010/2011 at Lisinski, which begins on October 9th, with his premiere performance in Croatia on November 9th.
As of late September, yet another exciting season 2010/2011 has begun at the Croatian National Theatre. This year, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of premieres as well as repeat performances of famous dramas, operas and ballets by Croatian, as well as foreign troupes.
Zagreb’s popular “sea”, the Jarun Lake, will gain yet another new feature this autumn; visitors, walkers and recreationalists will have a possibility of taking a break on real artworks that will be installed along the track for coaches, and which will serve as benches for resting.
