Apart from the long-standing tradition of Animafest, a world-renowned festival of animated film, Zagreb will also feature (for the first time) the Festival of Croatian Animated Film in late February. This will provide audiences with an opportunity to view the best works of domestic production, all in one place.

After The Hague, where it delighted over fifty-thousand Dutch visitors, a retrospective exhibition of the great Croatian painter, Vlaho Bukovac, will be on show at the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery as of early February. However, the exhibition will remain open for only three weeks, so make sure not to miss this opportunity to view an extremely valuable collection of art!

Between February 23rd and March 28th, Zagreb’s Art Pavilion will be presenting the works of renowned Croatian contemporary artist, Edo Murtić. The exhibition will feature more than two-hundred works with the theme of war, which were created in the early 1990s.

The new edition of the most performed Croatian musical, “Yalta, Yalta”, will premiere on February 25th at the magnificent Zagreb Arena. The new edition has been modernized and adapted for large stages, while the actors and singers of the “Komedija” theatre are a guarantee for a new success of this legendary musical.

Between the 24th and the 28th of February, the Zagreb Fair will be the venue for the 19th International Boat and Sport Show, in which more than 550 exhibitors from some thirty countries are expected to participate. The fair will, traditionally, showcase a wide array of products, equipment, and services for boaters and sports professionals, as well as recreationalists.

Although it was opened less than two months ago, the new Museum of Contemporary Art has quickly become an attractive venue for cultural events in Zagreb. Numerous large, as well as smaller scale exhibitions are in the pipeline. Visitors can also expect an array of world-famous cultural and entertainment treats.

In April, Croatian children will have an opportunity to enjoy one of the currently largest mega-spectacles in the world: “Walking with Dinosaurs,” which will “bring dinosaurs to life” in real-life size. On the 5th and the 6th of March, the ice-rink of Dom Sportova sports hall will once again be the venue to the 8th Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy. Although of a relatively short tradition, the trophy quickly became one of the five top World Competitions in Synchronized ice-skating.
